The Brave ｢勇者, Yūsha^?, lit. "Brave" or "Hero"｣, also known as Yuusha, is the first opening theme for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. It is produced and performed by YOASOBI. The opening is based on the novel Fanfare for Frieren.

Description

The Brave is the first opening theme of the Frieren: Beyond Journey's End anime series. It is produced and performed by YOASOBI, a singer/producer duo that rose to fame in 2020 and consists of singer Ikuta Lilas (stagename Ikura) and producer Ayase.

The song was released as part of the single album of the same name, 勇者, on September 29, 2023, the same date as the airing of the anime's first episode. The song was also included as part of YOASOBI's THE BOOK 3 album, released on October 4, 2023.

Additionally, four versions of the song are included in a limited edition CD, which was released on December 13, 2023. The CD comes with an antique treasure box containing a four-page booklet with lyrics and an illustration of Frieren and Himmel by Abe Tsukasa, a grimoire-style disc packaging (digipak), and the novel associated with The Brave—Fanfare for Frieren, written by Jiro Kiso and supervised by Kanehito Yamada—on a scroll. Limited benefits associated with certain sellers were also included.

The MV and single for the English version of The Brave was released on November 24, 2023, the same time as the airing of Episode 12 of the series. The English version was also included in the limited edition CD.
