Frieren: Beyond Journey's End ｢葬 (そう) 送 (そう) のフリーレン Sōsō no Furīren?｣, also known as Sousou no Frieren, is an anime series based on the manga of the same name, written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Abe Tsukasa. The first season of the anime consisted of 28 episodes and aired for two consecutive cours from September 29, 2023 through March 22, 2024. A second season was announced on September 28, 2024, during the first anniversary celebration for Season 1,[1] and it is scheduled to air in January 2026.[2]

Synopsis[]

After the party of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to lives of solitude. Generations pass, and the elven mage Frieren comes face to face with humanity's mortality. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill old friends' dying wishes. Can an elven mind make peace with the nature of life and death? Frieren embarks on her quest to find out.[3]
