Fern and Her Baked Sweets ｢フェルンと
Summary[]
After the events of the previous chapter, Stark is seen meditating on a cliff whilst an old man watches over his progress. Frieren, looking for Stark, notices the old man and inquires about him. Stark tells her the man is a stranger. Frieren seeks Stark's help as she angered Fern. Stark and Frieren are then seen approaching the angered Fern. Stark attempts to placate her, however Fern unexpectedly replies wanting to eat snacks. The chapter then cuts to Lawine and Kanne, where an elaborately dressed Lawine is seen complaining about her brothers and mother coddling her. Kanne in response teases Lawine and Lawine begins to pull her pigtails in retaliation. The scene then cuts to Frieren's Party in a bakery where Frieren and Stark are struggling to pick out sweets for Fern. Lawine and Kanne are then seen entering the bakery where they proceed to converse with Frieren's Party before they leave all together. Whilst on the streets, Wirbel interrupts the group. He and Scharf inspect Stark's strength and musculature, before he requests to borrow Stark as he requires a vanguard. Stark departs with Wirbel and Scharf, whilst Frieren, Fern, Lawine, and Kanne return to Frieren and Fern's inn. Lawine and Kanne gift Frieren with a basket of treats for helping them pass the first stage of the exam, which makes Frieren recall one of Himmel's motivations for helping people, which was to be remembered by them, and that to be remembered, you just had to change someone's life a little. In the present day, Frieren smiles, realizing that she has touched Lawine and Kanne's lives. Fern is seen to brighten up with the sweets. Birds they fly to each of the examinees still in the exam with details about the second stage of the exam. Their proctor is to be Sense.
