Plot Details[]

Wehrlos reports his findings to Clematis.
Clematis meets with Wehrlos, who is soaking wet. Wehrlos explains that he fell in a river, and Clematis invites him inside to warm up. Clematis asks Wehrlos about the progress on his mission, and Wehrlos confirms that the escape route from the time of the Unified Empire is still usable. Clematis mentions that Iris and Routine reported otherwise, as the path has partially filled with water. Wehrlos informs him that report was why he went himself to check, and a warrior can easily get through the water in twenty minutes. Clematis interrupts him and concludes that such a feat is only possible for Wehrlos.
The two of them arrive in a room, where Lore helps Wehrlos dry off. Clematis decides to set up a plan that makes use of their greatest asset: Wehrlos. He instructs Lore to bring them tea, and she directs him to get it himself as she needs to head out to purchase ceremonial wine. Clematis informs her that he does not know where the tea is, but Lore leaves without responding. As he searches for the tea, Clematis comments that Lore does not appear to like him and there are too many possible reasons for him to guess why.

Clematis realizes Wehrlos steals the tea.
Wehrlos tells Clematis that he is the only one who thinks of him as a great asset, and Löwe is considerably stronger. He laments the passage of time and wishes he was younger, but Clematis expresses that his abilities are still tremendous. Clematis requests Wehrlos's aid in his search for tea, and Wehrlos points directly to the cupboard it is in, revealing that he occasionally borrows tea. Clematis chastises him for breaking into the building to steal tea and tells him he may end up in hell, but Wehrlos bluntly asks how many people Clematis thinks he has killed. Clematis explains he was joking, and Wehrlos responds that he can see why he is hated.

Wolf tells Gazelle not to give his life savings away if he thinks he will die.
Meanwhile, Lore finds Schritt drunk outside a bar. After Wolf lets Lore in, Lore asks about purchasing ceremonial wine while Gazelle drinks at the bar. Wolf asks if she is certain, given the importance of the occasion and the fact that he only has cheap wine. Lore recites a saying by Clematis that declares individual faith is more important than material value, but Wolf doubts this saying considering it came from Clematis. He offers his cheapest wine, but Lore requests something that is less obviously cheap for the ceremony. Gazelle slams his drink down and asks how they can act like this when they might find themselves dead in two days. Wolf advises Gazelle that they have to perform their everyday moments properly, lest they come to regret it when they don't die. He expresses his appreciation that Gazelle paid his tab, but he tells him that he cannot accept his life savings if Gazelle is anticipating his own death.

Lore senses mana in the silver coins.
Gazelle explains the money was easy money he made from a sale, but Lore observes the coins and requests to look at them closer. She senses mana in them and reveals that they are being traced by a tracking spell. Additionally, she notes the caster is skilled, as the silver in the coins help conceal the mana. She tells Wolf and Gazelle to prepare for battle, and elsewhere, Frieren notices her spell has been traced back to her.
