Frieren casts a spell on the silver coins.
Frieren, Fern, and Stark walk through the crowd of vendors for the Foundation Festival. Frieren notices a vendor and asks Stark to come with her to check out his products, where she finds a vase allegedly from the Unified Empire Era. The vendor tells her the vase comes with a certificate of authenticity and offers her a discounted price. The two of them negotiate the price from six coins down to four, and before handing him the coins, Frieren casts a spell on them. She shows off her purchase to Falsch, however, much to her anguish, he identifies it as a fake.
At a library, Denken returns a book to Routine, who expresses surprise at the quick book return. Denken explains that he needs to urgently visit his hometown, and Routine wishes him well on his long journey. However, Denken tells Routine he never told her he was from Weise, and she comments that she must have heard from someone else. She apologizes for overstepping, and Denken tells her he overhead that she was from Lorbeer and was a notable participant during the war in the north. He also mentions that he heard she was into fortune telling and asks if her fortune this morning said something nice about the future. Routine responds that she was supposed to have an ordinary day, but that was just proven wrong.

Denken and Sense talk about Serie's assassination plot.
Denken meets Sense as he prepares to depart Eiseberg, and she requests for them to talk. Sense asks him if he has any knowledge on Serie's assassination plot, but he responds that as both a first-class mage and a figure of the Empire, no one would tell him about such a scheme, whether it be the Empire or the Continental Magic Association. As of now, his current position is a bridge between the Empire and the Continental Magic Association, and neither group is close enough to him to share such plans. However, he emphasizes that he does not regret becoming a first-class mage, and the status allowed him to regain what he had lost. Sense apologizes to Denken for not trusting him, and he tells her she does not need to, as he would do the same if the roles were reversed. They continue their discussion, and Denken reminds Sense to calm down so others wouldn't see them acting uneasy together.
Sense regroups with Falsch and Frieren's Party, where Fern explains why Frieren is upset. Sense tries to cheer up Frieren, but Frieren responds with animosity and tells Sense not to touch the vase with her hair, claiming her hair smells of blood. Sense asks Fern about Frieren's aggressiveness, and Fern reveals that Frieren is going through her once-in-a-decade tantrum that could even make her capable of killing someone, however, she assures Sense that she will return to normal within ten minutes. Sense thinks about how she has, in fact, fought enough battles for her hair to smell like blood, but she personally believes it smells sweet, which Fern agrees to. Frieren ends her tantrum and tells Fern and Stark to return to the vendor with her and she also wants to investigate something on the way.

The Shadow Warriors hold a meeting.
In the forest, the Shadow Warriors, consisting of Schritt, Wolf, Iris, Routine, Clematis, Lore, Wehrlos, and Gazelle, arrange a meeting. When questioned about an absent member, Schritt explains that Löwe went off to handle something else and left them to handle the intruders. Gazelle and Lore clarify that they are referring to her brother, the blacksmith, and she responds that she will contact him later.
